Everything about The Hook Of Holland totally explained

The Hook of Holland (Dutch: - literally "Corner of Holland"), also known in English as the Hook, is a town in South Holland in the Netherlands. It is situated on the North Sea coast, on the north bank of the Nieuwe Waterweg ship canal. The town is administered by the municipality (gemeente) of Rotterdam as a district (wijk) of that city. The district of Hoek van Holland covers an area of 16.7 km² (of which 13.92 km² is land). On 1 January 1999 it had an estimated population of 9,400.
Hoek van Holland is connected to Rotterdam by the Hoek van Holland Strand-Rotterdam Centraal railway service via Maassluis, Vlaardingen and Schiedam. The station Hoek van Holland Strand is located closest to the beach; the other station, Hoek van Holland Haven, is located next to the Stena Line terminal. Stena Line operates a daily ferry service to Harwich, England. The passenger boats currently in operation are the Stena Hollandica and the Stena Britannica.
Nearby towns include Monster, 's-Gravenzande and Naaldwijk to the northeast and Maassluis to the southeast. On the other side of the river is the Europoort and the Maasvlakte.
The seaside beach has sandy dunes and a pier. One section of it's designated for use by naturists.
